California's National Treasure Yosemite National Park is almost 1200 square miles in area. Embracing a spectacular tract of mountain and valley scenery in the Sierra Nevada, it was set aside as a national park in 1890. The park harbors a grand collection of waterfalls, meadows, and forests that include groves of giant sequoias, the world's largest living things.
And then there is the heart, Yosemite Valley, which is only 7 miles long, up to a mile high, and a mile wide. From Ansel Adams Gallery to Bridalveil Falls, bicycle rentals to trail rides, there are no shortage of activities available to you!
Bridalveil Falls - The Ahwahneechee called this place Pohono, "Sprit of the Puffing Wind." The wind swirls about the cliff, often lifting the falling water and blowing it from side to side in delicate free-fall. It is 62 stories high.
A Free Shuttle Bus to take you within Yosemite Valley is available. It operates quite often.
